How To Remove Red Wine Stains From Carpet

  1. Blot (don’t rub!) the red wine stain as quickly as possible and as much as you can
  2. Prepare the solution in a small bowl by adding a tablespoon of dishwasher liquid and a tablespoon of white vinegar, to two cups of warm water
  3. Grab a white clean cloth (a coloured cloth’s pigments may transfer onto the carpet when cleaning the stain), and apply a small amount of your solution
  4. Blot the stain frequently on the stained area, and continue blotting until the stain disappears!
  5. Spray the area with cold water to rinse the solution, and blot dry.

How To Remove Red Wine Stains From Upholstery

Removing red wine stains from upholstery is slightly different from removing it from a carpet:

  1. Blot the spilled wine as soon as possible, and as much as possible
  2. Mix half a teaspoon of dishwashing liquid to 2 cups of cold water
  3. Sponge the solution onto the stained area
  4. Then blot the area with an absorbent cloth until the red wine has gone
  5. Lastly, sponge with cold water to remove the solution and blot until dry
